Plan2Move

Plan2Move is a website that provides users with a place to plan a move. From a to-do list, setting reminders, and an expense tracker, Plan2Move does it all.

User Research

I conducted 5 user interviews to determine the main challenge users have with planning a move. With the learned information from user interviews, I created a user persona, site map, affinity map, user flows and task flows. I also conducted a competitor analysis to determine what services other other websites, apps and companies were providing well and what they were missing.

My key findings were that people had difficulty keeping track of everything in one place, staying within budget, planning for childcare for the day of their move, and knowing what needs to be done when planning a move.

Final Prototype

Usability testing helped identify what was missing, what needed to be changed and what should be completely removed or moved to a different page

Testing

I conducted moderated testing with 6 potential users. Users were asked to complete 2 tasks: create a new task, and set a reminders for a task.

Results:

The users were able to complete all tasks with minimal errors. Creating a new task posed no challenges, however, setting a reminder posed minimal challenges. After testing was complete, I asked the participants some follow up questions to get feedback on their thought process. Half of the participants felt there should be a reminder button/icon added to the dashboard page on the to do list, and half of them did not think that. After discussing it with my mentor, I had decided to keep the prototype as it was (without the reminder button on the dashboard); however, had there been more time to conduct more user research, I would have sent out a survey at this point to game more insight as to what users were experiencing in regards to if there should be a reminder button on the dashboard or not.

Final Thoughts

If there was no time constraint, I would continue to design the expense tracker and moving company search portions of the Plan2Move dashboard.
