Economeds

The purpose of this website is to provide information to individuals and insurance captives on what services Economeds provides. Economeds helps patients receive medications that are not covered by insurance at a lower cost, and assists insurance captives in providing customers with an alternative way of receiving their medications.

User Research

I conducted stakeholder interviews to determine the minimum viable product (MVP) in order for the Economeds website to be successful. With the learned information from stakeholder interviews I created a user persona, site map, affinity map, user flows and task flows. I also conducted a competitor analysis to determine what services other companies were providing well and what they were missing.

My key findings were that a major pain point for users is understanding how Economeds works and knowing what they need in order to benefit from their services. Another pain point is being able to easily order their prescriptions.

Final Product

Usability testing helped identify what was missing, what needed to be changed and what should be completely removed or moved to a different page

Testing

I conducted moderate usability testing to determine what needed to be iterated on.

Users were asked to complete 2 tasks:

  1. Submit a new prescription

  2. Contact Economeds

Results:

Overall, usability testing was successful. Participants were able to navigate the site without difficulty. There were 5% error clicks when navigating to “submit a prescription”. With iteration, users were 100% successful with both tasks.

Final Thoughts

Next steps will be to continue designing a patient portal so that users can have their information saved. This would allow for easier access to order additional prescriptions and old prescriptions.
